International Music
Because of my somewhat immersion in Asian culture lately, I've heard alot of of Chinese and Indonesian music. I fact, I learned how to play and sing the following songs on the guitar and in their original langauges...which is not easy...especially when you cannot find tab on the internet and they use keys that are not the most common in the West.
This song is Indo and is actually pretty easy to pick up language-wise. Thank goodness for the Asian obsession with karaoke!
This song is much more challenging because they change keys 3 different times. I start out playing with Capo 4 and quite honestly I cannot play the 3rd key in the arrangement. Still, it's a cool song.

Beijing 2008
Interesting ESPN article about preparations for the Beijing 2008 Olympics. I've been to that part of the Great Wall, survived the traffic, and also seen the Starbucks in the Forbidden City.
Another Indonesian tragedy
For the last several months, it seems like every week there is another tragedy (earthquake, flood, plane crash, etc.) in Indonesia. It hits closer to home for me now, because I have several Indo friends here in the states. Please pray for this country...the largest m*slim nation on earth.
See this footage from an Australian who was on board a plane that crashed yesterday in Indo, killing over 20...

Splenda baking
Has anyone tried to bake with splenda? I've tried to make pumpkin and banana bread a few times now and I find that it never rises or bakes correctly. It actually doesn't taste all that bad. It's just drier and smaller.
